I mean, how can you not love this? It's the loveliest, slowest, most puzzle-like scifi ever. It's *fantastic* and you've all seen it before, just in different places because it influenced *everything*.

It's been hilarious watching the remastered 1958 copy of Quatermass and the Pit - every so often, it zooms in for an establishing shot of a location like Romey's museum and the sign is in *razor* sharp detail, like, mathematical diagram sharp. Then it pulls out and it's like someone smeared a kilo of vaseline on the lens :D

Still *seriously* worth the money :)

We say standards are written in blood for a reason.

"All my mates say they're doing it and it's easy" isn't a "standard".

"I know how to do this" isn't a "standard".

And on the same tone, the industry isn't homogenous. Just because half the SMEs and startups use tool X does not make it an "industry standard", because what works when you have six engineers in a cheap office somewhere does not scale to tens of thousands of users.

And don't get me started on "best practices".
