Top Gun is shit. That's not up for debate. Its rapey protagonist has racked up two death sentences under military law by the end of the movie and the plot is below stupid.

But when you try to explain that the flying in the movie is boring garbage, nobody believes you because if you watch a really scary good flying sequence, like the chase scene in Biggles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jUXvdGizwQ, you need context to grasp the fear.
